– Newnham Park Estate, Plympton, Devon, PL75BN, 10-12th August 2018
We got back to the office today after 16 days straight in the fields and have returned with the most overwhelming feeling of LOVE for The Festival, Crew, Performers and most of all The People that came and partied for the weekend. Each year the Festival increases our faith in human nature and gives us inspiration to take things further and work even harder for the next year.
We work as a small team all year in the office planning the Festival, but it takes over 1000 people to deliver the event over the 14 days we are on site.
We have so many people to thank so I will start at the beginning from the Front Gate, many teams are too large to list by name but be assured your work is valued by us, each and every one of you, the whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts!
Big Thanks to Scott, Pete and the amazing Team at Brandon Hire and Exmoor Luxury Loos for all our Infrastructure, Toilets, Showers and Power Generation.
A massive thank you to Pro-Tect Security for keeping us all Safe & Sound, what an amazing friendly and Professional Team, Tom your Security Manager rocked!
We definitely have the best Car Parking Team there is, all weathers, all hours and always happy. Barry Welch and Crew your work did not go unnoticed, talk about squeeze em in, thanks soooo much!
The Box Office Team – Charlotte, Jay, Julia, Sarah, Serefin, Alice, Elly-May, Nikki, Vicky and all that helped out over the weekend, it’s not an easy job and you miss the show, we love you all and couldn’t do it without you.
Our Music, Venue & Stage Managers – Paddy, Matt, Shaun, Dave, Angela, Kenty, Alex, Pottsy, Kate, Phil, Paul and all that worked to deliver a ground-breaking music program across all 3 days.
The Site Crew… Adam our Superman of a Site Manager, Dom, Javen, Fraser, Lee, Dave John, Dave The Builder, Lulu, Louis, Kaleb, Nathan & of course Campbell, all went stupidly beyond anything we could have ever expected.
Our Amazing Stewards and Gate Crews – We had soooo many Stewards and Fire Stewards on site this year it would be impossible to list them all here but be assured this event would not run without your hard work and determination in difficult conditions. We do hope you enjoyed the Festival as much as we did.
A special shout to our Dynamic Duo in Artist Liaison – Windmill & Winston with the formidable force that is Lulu in the back office running the accreditation – What a Team!
To our Site Decorators, you are the NUTS!, Eric, Teri, Karl, Anji, Fraser, Dave the Flag, Tick Tock & a special shout to our Seamstress’ Teri & Lady Ang who were working for weeks before hand on flags, drapes and bunting
This years Tech Crews were all Outstanding! – Neil & Jo and the Super Professional Team at Future Technical Solutions. Dave, Joe & all the Crew that is Recharged Sound and Light and John at Soundslive – No let up in Quality or Commitment for The Duration! Belted it out!! Chris and his amazing lasers, James from Astral and a Big Shout to “Turn It Down\UP Tim” for keeping us within acceptable noise limits.
Our Tent Suppliers – Stretch with Intent, Ashley Events, Southwest Domes & The Tipi Hire Company – Great Service and Quality Erections 😉
Our Amazing Medical Team, I know where we would be without this Crew and it would not be nice! Mary, Catherine, Sue, Mandy, Anita & Philip, we all thank you SO MUCH for looking after us. Quality Job!!!!!!!!
Jackie and her Refuse and Cleaning Team – This is one of the hardest jobs on site and goes on all weekend, the site is always cleaner at finish than when we arrive, Jackie and her Crew will not leave until the last fag butt is removed. This Team are volunteers and stay on afterwards for the clean up, words cannot express how integral you are to the production of this event.
Our Media Crews – Team 360 Media, Charlesworth Films, James Hitchcock, David Walker & Trevor Moskwa & Team
Our wonderful Children’s Entertainers, from Alfredo to Zig Zag & Crafty Monkeys to Flotsam the Fool. We need to give a special mention this year to Naomi, Airfish, Angelina’s Love Hearts and all the wonderful Circus Performers, Jugglers & Stilt Walkers that made the weekend super special.
Our amazing Arts & Workshops Team, Jazzy, Yannis, Hayley, Mansour, Barbara, Yasmin, Cyrus, Paula, Louise & all the amazing artists and craftspeople that shared their skills with us.
Our amazing performers who waive their fee’s or work on reduced payment, so we can run the show at a reasonable ticket price. Each and every one of our Performers “Buy In” to what we do. To have quality entertainment running all the time in 6 Venues is an accolade for such a small event and couldn’t be done without the approach that is taken by all.
And Finally…… To all our wonderful customers who came and partied with us, we LOVE you all very much and hope to see you all again in 2019.
Big Love & See you in the fields
Billy & Jane and the Love Summer Team xx
Love Summer is a Festival made for Family , if the children are happy…. Everybody’s happy! Together with our full program of Entertainers, Magicians, Jesters and General Fools we look to provide activities where all children can learn new skills whilst having fun.
The Pottery is a little bit special… Yes!… We have an on-site Pottery Studio!! Complete with Pedal Powered Potters Wheels (try and say that after a few ciders) and our Resident Master Potter Mansour
This truly is an amazing space and Mansour is one of the most fun people we have ever met, his team will give you a warm welcome and there’s never a dull moment when Manz is involved!
The Pottery is open pretty much all the time and you can just pop in but the wheels get very busy at peak times and if pottery is your big thing you can book some undivided attention from The Manz himself.
Flotsam’s circus skills workshop suitable for all ages and abilities and will run each day. All his instructors have many years of experience teaching circus skills and include instruction in:
It gives us great pleasure to welcome Naomi and her Crew from Airfish back to Love Summer Festival 2018. Quite frankly we wouldn’t trust anyone else to deliver this service for us. Please remember many do this but Naomi, Airfish & all Associated are PROPER! Performers and come fully Trained and Insured. Be assured you are safe in their hands 🙂
Flying Lessons are short as it requires great strength and you may be able to have a quick go in quiet times but this is one activity we must make a nominal charge for. The running costs for the Safety, Equipment, Insurance,etc….. are really high, anyway “if you want the best”… believe me its well worth it, we’ve all been on a Big Wheel or Roller-coaster but have you Flown The Trapeze.
This activity is limited to Under 18’s and really just for teenagers. We have some amazing DJ’s and Sound Systems at Love Summer and they aren’t being used in a morning. So there’s no reason why our young DJ’s from beginner through to those already “playing out” to pick up some skills from our Master Craftsmen DJ Che.
We have some Brilliant DJ’s lined up to help across all the venues and sessions will be run every morning.
We loved the Animal HQ and Simon’s knowledge of animals is amazing. Animal Activities do some great work using animals for therapy and relaxation…. Still not sure about that spider though!

Wonderful workshops from Yannis Nicolaou Art These are great fun and all paint is provided, numbers are limited so you will need to get signed up early for this one.
Mainly for the Under 18’s bur who doesn’t like spraying on a freshly painted wall!!
Come and try one of our amazing Drum Workshops with Paula and her Team from Singing Drum. These are great fun and open to everyone from total beginners to serious percussionists
There will be workshops each day and the one on Saturday morning is for children. You will usually find Paula and her Crew drumming and making music all over the site for most of the weekend.
They have everything from SWING BOATS and every type of Art & Craft you can think of to Bubbleologists & Face Painting

It’s beginning to hot right up down at Love Summer HQ, if you had told us a few years ago we would be booking performers at all the different levels we are, we never would have believed you. Here’s some of the Headline Acts we have on our stages at Love Summer Festival 2018.
A great example of a Band that really delivered for us in 2017 is Suburban Symphony, they made a 600 round mile trip to make their debut in the Devon fields at Love Summer Festival 17. Tony Edwards ex front man of Torquay band Pipeline brought his new band Giz,Sam,Tom and Lewis down from there Lancashire base to play on the SuperSonics main stage on Saturday night. The Penultimate band on the bill took to the stage at 10pm and did not disappoint. Their support who traveled with the band to the festival were leading the charge at the front, even in the sound check the band and crowd were bouncing off each other. Local super fan Gladys was overcome with emotion and invaded the stage, it most of took her back to her Bay City Rollers days. The 40 minute set seemed to be over very quickly finishing up with their new release ‘Stepping Stones’ out now on Hilltown records #upthesymphony We really cannot thank you enough, what a gig!. Here’s a few “snaps” our Photographer James Hitchcock took.
If you want to show your support for Live Music and show support for Real Live Musicians why not download their latest track Stepping Stones Here we did
